CONGRATULATIONS to our Grand Prize winner!

CONGRATULATIONS to our Grand Prize winner, ELAINE KRUPP, in our office drawing on Standard Process Pride Day!   Elaine will get a full-hour massage from Elvira, our topnotch massage therapist.

Congratulations also to our two Second Prize winners in the drawing - SYLVIA CRUZ and MINNI WILLIAMS.  Each receives a bottle of Catalyn, the amazing "multivitamin" supplement made by Standard Process.

Thank you to everyone who came in last week, and especially Friday, to celebrate with us.  Be sure to check out the new photo in the lobby - it's framed in barn wood!  We'll let you guess where the picture was taken.

Need something that's bright, color-coordinated, and delicious for tonight?  Here's a recipe for a comforting soup:

CARROT NECTAR SOUP

1 medium organic red pepper
1 pound organic carrots, sliced
1 medium organic onion, chopped
1 organic potato, cubed
2 tbsp. butter
4 cups organic chicken broth (homemade OR Imagine brand)
1 cup water
1/3 cup organic orange juice
2 tsp. grated organic orange rind
1/2 tsp. sea salt (optional)
1 tsp. dill
1/2 tsp. each marjoram, thyme, rosemary, sage
dash of cayenne

Broil red pepper 4 inches from the heat until skin is blistered, about 6 minutes.  With tongs, rotate pepper 1/4 turn.  Broil and rotate until all sides are blistered and blackened.  Immediately place pepper in a bowl; cover and let stand for 15-20 minutes.  Peel and discard charred skin.  Remove stem and seeds.  Set pepper aside.

In a large saucepan, cook the carrots, onion, and potato in butter over medium-low heat until onion is tender.  Stir in the remaining ingredients.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat, and simmer, covered, for 25 minutes or until vegetables are tender.  Remove from heat a few minutes.

In a blender, puree carrot mixture and roasted pepper in small batches.  Return to the pan and heat through.  About 4 servings.

To complete your theme, how about making the easy No-Flour Brownies for dessert.  Better than even looking at the so-called "goodies" out there tonight!

Have a great evening, and we'll see you soon!   Be sure to check our website regularly for the nutrition articles on our blog.  Click the Facebook icon at the bottom left corner. (You don't need a Facebook account in order to access this.)
